RULES OF THE PODCAST
1.
Our first and foremost focus is retelling incidents how they happened.
2.
Journal studies show that the perpetrators of mass shootings often commit their crimes for the fame and name recognition. Therefore, we will never say the name of the perpetrator of the crimes we cover. The person responsible will be referred to as the shooter, the perpetrator, the killer, etc.
3.
We use reliable news accounts and police/court reports for our information. However, some inaccuracies can still occur due to differing news accounts. If you have intimate knowledge of any of these incidents and feel that we present any incorrect information, please let us know and we will make it right.
4.
Our aim is not political. While both of us have our own feelings about firearms and the criminal justice system, we try our hardest to relay the facts and offer honest commentary.
5.
We are not experts. Both of us have relevant degrees, but we would like to reiterate that neither of us are experts, doctors, lawyers, or law enforcement.
6.
What is Protocol 136? We based our podcast name on an emergency dispatch protocol that outlines the steps for a dispatcher receiving a call reporting an active shooter. You can read the protocol here.
